This property, located very near downtown Mill Valley, had been added on to over the years, and was ready for a major spatial re configuration. The top two floors sat on a basement without quite enough headroom. The new residents dug down to gain headroom and carefully restored the remaining structure.
Although not on any historic property list, the house stands on a prominent corner of Town and politically needed to retain the shingle style character as it was updated for current, more relaxed lifestyles.
