Villa Raku is a house designed for a potter and a garden designer. The house holds both workplaces and housing and is the center around which they build up their artistic activities. The ceramic workshop is located in the souterrain and housing and studio are located upstairs. This project has largely been about organizing the functions well in the house and integrating it beautifully in the hill that stretches through the plot. The building is organized around a system of sawn wood pillars that make up the frame. The heating of the upper floor is done with the help of waste heat from the ovens in the pottery. Building materials are simple and natural such as concrete and wood. The facades are painted with tar. The house was completed in 2015 but has since slowly assumed its natural integrity among garden walls and a carefully designed garden.
