Wienenergie commissioned in 2002 the extension of the master plan "Mehrwert Simmering" on its site east of the gasometer. At the end of 2016, the Nussbaumallee residential complex was completed.

A long building used as a parking lot shields the property from the new main road B228. Three line-shaped buildings with 300 residential units border it.

A courtyard with preserved ancient trees and public functions creates high living quality and an urban atmosphere. Green roof surfaces with common facilities such as sauna and fitness rooms as well as living areas are available to all residents and ensure "social comfort".

The identification of the inhabitants is the result of an unmistakable, exciting sequence of rooms, which is modelled on the inner city.

This project deliberately revises the principles of historic Viennese housing. An appropriate dialogue takes place with one of these great facilities, the Anton-Schrammel-Hof, located on the other side of the railroad.
