Architecture office in Alcoy | Milena Lunedí
Alcoy / Spain / 2018
Set in a historic building in the city centre of Alcoy (Alicante, Spain), this space has been given a comprehensive approach that changes it completely; from storage premises under cover into a bright, modern and pleasant office space that could be transformed into an open concept home.
The initial absence of light has been corrected with new openings and exterior spaces that turn it into an airy and open space. The personality of the building is maintained by integrating the original textures of the stone blocks and wooden beams.
Ornamental vegetation gives the final touch to the soft and warm textures of the wood, the most outstanding element of this design. The interior space feels like outside, and the space outside looks like inside, thus deleting the boundaries between them.
The lines are creating irregular volumes that structure the space, if compared to a forceful formal reduction of the central units that allows a free interpretation of the space to the user, a flexibility that allows you to define a new way of working and a better "Happy & Healthy" lifestyle.
