In contemporary architecture, the concepts of saving energy, sustainability and the greenhouse effect are of the utmost importance, meaning that they must be taken into account when embarking on any project, whether it be a new build or refurbishment. Requirements such as these are intimately linked to solar protection systems such as lattices.

The louver models that we design and market at Giménez Ganga give a high aesthetic value to the building through varying shapes and dimensions, with movable or fixed slats, which can be adjusted manually or motorised. In this way, we offer you a wide range of possibilities that allow us to find, in a comprehensive manner, a tailor-made solution for every project.

As such, the R-400 louver is a rectangular slat made of extruded aluminium that can be adapted to any façade, whether for private or public use, for any hotel or restaurant project. It is a model that reflects the trends of modern architecture.
Formed by combining two 1/2 R-400 slat profiles, it has external dimensions of 400 x 50 mm and offers solar protection and light by reflecting the light falling on the slats towards the interior of the building.

Its mobile version offers adjustable sun protection for roofs and façades, reflecting and/or absorbing solar radiation before it reaches the building’s surface, so that this absorbed or reflected heat dissipates into the atmosphere, thereby effecting the energy saving that this represents at hot times of the year.

The R-400 can be installed both vertically and horizontally, and can be oriented from 0º (in its closed position) to 150º (its maximum recommended opening position), depending on its deployment, in order to be able to make the most of the light and heat from the sun’s rays at cold times of the year.

You will achieve a colour contrast with regard to the R-400 slats themselves, with each 1/2 R-400 slat varying in colour, creating a more original design. There is also the option to install photovoltaic panels on the outer side of the slats, allowing energy to be generated and energy self-sufficiency to be achieved.

Here we present a project carried out on the façade of a public health centre in the town of Santiago el Mayor, in Murcia. This complex system of R-400 louvers, lacquered in RAL 1036, make up the sophisticated façade of this health centre, which will serve 21,400 users.

The 400 mm-wide slats are installed vertically in a fixed position, forming a lattice with an avant-garde aesthetic very much in keeping with the architecture of this innovative building.
