Baku - Urban lighting

ENG - Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan, hosted the 1st European Games in 2015. The event organisation caused a deep urban transformation, with buildings designed to host competitions being built, together with skyscrapers and even long boulevards on the seafront, which are in ideal continuity with the ones built at the beginning of the 20th century, based on the European model.

Olympic Stadium
The Olympic Stadium is one of the most important buildings, among the ones that have just been built. The project involved not only the stadium but the entire area located around a lake, an oasis that became green again, with people enjoying the promenade in the evening and kids playing happily.

Hydra
Neri furnished and lit the park with Hydra, Alya and Saiph systems: the products fit perfectly with the style of the stadium thanks to their modern design, and play a role in making this place nice and enjoyable also after the sport events.

Matar
The city has long boulevards on the Caspian sea: the ones from the early 20th century with many trees and lawns, and the modern ones where the stone element is of central importance. Here are located 16 piers, and it’s nice to stop and enjoy the place for a while, since it feels like being at sea. To light and decorate this place, the Matar system has been chosen.

Alkes
The city is still expanding to the south with new boulevards, where Neri used the Alkes system mounted on 12-meter-high posts, with staggered arms, that were built specifically for this project.
Hydra in space Tv
Hydra system has been installed in the city, in Space Tv square, too.

Old city
Baku has a thousand-year history, and its old city centre is more that 1000 years old. Its value has been recognised by UNESCO as a ‘World Heritage Site’. Neri lit the old city centre with lamp posts and brackets part of Sheliak system and ‘Light 500’ lantern.

ITA - Baku, capitale dell’Azerbaijan, nel 2015 è stata sede dei ‘1st European Games’. L’organizzazione dell’evento ha comportato una profonda trasformazione urbanistica con la costruzione degli edifici destinati ad ospitare le gare sportive ma anche con nuovi grattacieli e, soprattutto, un fronte mare con lunghi boulevards in continuità ideale con quelli costruiti all’inizio ‘900 su modello europeo.

Olympic Stadium
L’Olympic Stadium è, fra le opere appena costruite, una delle più importanti. Il progetto ha coinvolto non solo la dimensione sportiva, ma ha richiesto la bonifica di un’ intera aerea che si sviluppa attorno a un lago, un’oasi riportata al verde dove la gente la sera passeggia, si ritrova e i bambini possono giocare.

Hydra
Neri ha arredato e illuminato questo parco con i sistemi Hydra, Alya e Saiph; prodotti che con il loro design moderno ben si integrano con le forme dello Stadio e contribuiscono a rendere gradevole questo luogo destinato ad essere frequentato e vissuto oltre agli avvenimenti sportivi.

Matar
Sul mar Caspio la città si sviluppa con i sui lunghi boulevards. Quelli di inizio 900, ricchi di alberi e prati, e quelli attuali, in pietra, da cui prendono vita 16 moli protesi verso il mare dove è bello sostare avendo la sensazione di essere in mare. Per illuminare e arredare questi moli è stato scelto il sistema Matar.

Alkes
La città però si sta ulteriormente estendendo verso sud con nuovi boulevards che Neri ha illuminato con il sistema Alkes e con un palo alto 12 metri, a due bracci sfalsati, appositamente costruito per il progetto.

Il sistema Hydra è stato utilizzato anche in città, in piazza Space Tv.

Città Vecchia
Baku ha una storia millenaria e il suo centro storico risale a prima dell’anno Mille. Il suo valore è stato riconosciuto dall’Unesco con il titolo di “patrimonio dell’umanità”. Neri lo ha illuminato con i pali e le mensole del sistema Sheliak e la lanterna Light 500.
