Salomon ProShop Concept Store | Paradigma Studio

Salomon Romania opened on 31st of October 2016 the biggest store in Europe. The 300 sqm store, which can be found in Bucharest- Romania, started a new chapter design story for Salomon.

The design concept started from the idea of creating a place to inspire the customer to spend more time outside, a space meant to let people be informed in an easy and funny way. The space was designed to fulfill both the needs for normal people and  for those athletes who know what Salomon is and what it can offer.

Three main aspects were chosen to develop the concept: mountain HIKING, urban RUNNING and SKI. These combined with the idea of the city center position of the store, generated the design.

In order to underline the idea of “basics” there were selected 4 type of materials, apparently with no connection :cubical stone, rough and finished wood, concrete and metal sheet.

The concrete floor and the cubic stone wall suggest an interior space invaded by the urban landscape. The rough wood brings to front the idea of mountain area, the idea of mountain chalet, where you take a rest after a ski ride.

By book, the shop window must reflect “information” and “presentation”. Thus in the shop’s window, there can be seen some big boxes which recreate the concept of tourist information box.

The store is situated on a very important avenue in Bucharest, Unirii Boulevard. The store’s position was considered  an important aspect to be shown in the store, so, we chose the highest wall in the store, the one from the main stair, to stylize the urban landscape surrounding the store.

The line of the design was kept in a fade area, in order to let Salomon products be brought in front. The idea was to let the design line complete the products, not cancel their value.
