Flat VIEIRA SOUTO | Yamagata Arquitetura
Rio De Janeiro / Brazil / 2013
To avoid large and constant dislocations between Niterói- Rio de Janeiro, where the owners live, and the south area of Rio de Janeiro, where they live their children, the owners decided to build a comfortable house across the Guanabara Bay, perfect for small seasons beside the sea.
The idea was to live in a practical and small apartment, in some clubby point of Rio de Janeiro.
“The family found one flat in a 80’s building and asked for me to do a project and general reform, with home atmosphere” counts architect Paloma Yamagata.
The two original rooms had been kept and the only existing bathroom splitted in two, transforming environments into suites.
The original plant was modified minimum as possible, while the coverings had been all renewed.
We consider a neutral and clear color palette to bring the sensation of amplitude.
The prompt furniture contributed with the circulation and accented the sensation of environments bigger and fluids.
