Alumetal complex was a huge factory that produced aluminum profiles. It was built in 1927 by Montecatini Group and it was in business until 1983. It was a great example of technology innovation and modernity because it was one of the first industrial buildings that used hydroelectric energy, with his huge conveying basin and four of the most innovative turbines of the twentieth century.

The project aims to convert the main building of the complex to a space where, thanks to big polycarbonate volumes wedged in the existing structure, we can create sixty pavilions that can be used for temporary exhibitions.

The landscape in front of the building will be turned into an extensive park with some platforms overlooking the river and others that will be touched lightly by the water.

New Buildings are designed on the principle of Raumplan, by Adolf Loos, in which every single space has a different height, depending on his function.
This is clear looking at the section of the building, where you can see the stairs system connecting every room.
