origami meets concrete
The shamrock shaped office building in Prague boasts an impressive facade.
Applied with öko skin slat panels the facade caressess its corners and gives the object a special appearance. The cladding technique at the rounded sides let them appear in three dimensional cross optics and plays with the contrast of the flat area. Viewed from a distance the structure is redolent of accurately folded origami sheets that coats the complex carefully.
The trefoil of rounded buildings with an angular superstructure grows on a common parterre. Greenery on the habitable roof gardens optically integrates the buildings into the new park which emerges in the eastern part of the lot. The expression of the building complex matches with the appearance of the former headquarters of Metrostav (Palmovka Park I) which Josef Pleskot designed 15 years earlier.
