West Village | Falconer Chester Hall

[ENG] - “Beith Street” project involved the manufacturing of more than 2.000 panels for the ventilated facade of a new building inside the complex of “West Village”, a student residence located a few hundred meters from the University of Glasgow.

Natural GAMMASTONE AIR enabled the designer to create a modern and energy efficient building in perfect harmony with the surrounding architectural environment and the Scottish urban landscape. The adoption of the ventilated facade is very effective in counteracting the high humidity rate of the local weather and, moreover, the usage of local stone facilitated the inclusion of the new building in the old complex without preventing innovation, also from the point of view of design.

The flexibility and the ease of installation of GAMMASTONE AIR made possible the installation of a curved facade due to the relatively small size of the individual panels.

[ITA] - Il progetto “Beith Street” consiste nella realizzazione dei pannelli per le pareti ventilate di un nuovo edificio nel complesso del “West Village”, una residenza per studenti situata a poche centinaia di metri dalla sede centrale dell’Università di Glasgow. 

Gammastone Natural AIR ha consentito al committente di realizzare un edificio moderno e dalla grande efficienza ener¬getica in perfetta sintonia con l’ambiente architettonico e paesaggistico tradizionale in cui è inserito. L’adozione della parete ventilata risulta evidentemente della massima efficacia nel contrastare la grande umidità che caratterizza il clima scozzese. L’utilizzo di pietra locale ha consentito, inoltre, di facilitare l’inserimento del nuovo stabile nel complesso, pur lasciando lo spazio per un’innovazione anche dal punto di vista del design.

La duttilità e la facilità di installazione di Gammastone AIR hanno reso possibile la realizzazione di una superficie esterna curva grazie alla dimensione relativamente piccola dei singoli pannelli.
