Cas'al mare
Favignana / Italy
Just opened on the island of Favignana, part of the wild Egadi archipelago, the beautifully designed, family-run five-bedroom Cas’almare is right on the sea and has been fashioned from restored fishermen’s cottages. Surrounded by decked areas, some sun-drenched, others shaded, the whitewashed rustic-chic hotel blends original architectural features with beautiful Gervasoni linen, cherry parquet floors, Ingo Maurer 'fisherman’s tear’ lamps and huge bathtubs carved out of rock. The hotel also has a private beach and beach club with sun terrace, loungers and a cafe serving sandwiches and salads at lunchtime, which it shares with its equally diminutive five-bedroom sister hotel a short drive away and a handful of beach club members, so it never gets crowded. There is a large skippered speedboat available to whisk you off to secluded bays or to one of the neighbouring islands at a moment’s notice.
