Project for the third year's Atelier. [4th classified out of 34 projects] Helsinki / Finland / 2015
The third year Atelier “Composition and structural design” bases its programme on the recent competition for the new Guggenheim Museum of Helsinki. The course has also three different channels to choose to develop the project: Nature-Architecture, Art-Architecture and Architect’s languages. It has been chosen the second, Art-Architecture.
The project of the museum has been designed beginning from a contemporary art painting of the Guggenheim collection. The painting in the background is “Penetrating”, by Josef Albers (1888), and we started from it, following the “soul” of the painting and from the schemes that Albers was used to create for his compositions.
