The hotel is designed for writers that need inspiration. Based on the parts of the Greek tragedy, we designed a space that will provide the users with a personal experience in order to inspire them and allow them to create under the light of knowledge. The process begins by entering the hotel-entrance, takes place through the stasima-episodia, and is completed with the exit-Catharsis.
Consequently, the personal studios-rooms are located upon the sea, at a distance from the cliff, providing the users with an opportunity to observe the lighthouse from an alternative view and come in touch with the natural element of the water (purification).

The building has a circular footprint and is divided into two parts. The part that is located on the steep cliff, encircles the lighthouse, hosts the public functions and the open air lighthouse museum open to the public, whereas the other one lies upon the sea belt and shelters the private studios-rooms for the hotel’s visitors. The architecture of the new building takes into consideration and enhance the local historical value and the landscape’s significance, is introvert to the lighthouse, extrovert to the sea and the cliff, uses the local materials and textures and is energy sustainable.
