The Pianoman
Above the piano store in the late 19th century are two apartments. It is located on the canal in downtown Amsterdam. The owner of the piano store and his family live in one of these apartments spread over three floors. The attic is divided among the children whose bedrooms are separated by a new wet room. Also to the master bedroom is a spacious new bathroom created. The mezzanine has been completely gutted while retaining the original details. Here is the original room-and-suite brought back in a modern manner, the benefit of the kitchen appliances. This allows the proportions of the room knocking again as it was formerly ever designed. The kitchen on the canal side and the living room facing the street. Easy living and comfort through the successful combination of historical details, natural materials and modern technology.
