Alumil S.A. stands out once more through a new International distinction for a large scale project. Thanks to its innovative & creative engineers, Alumil S.A. was selected by Google, among renowned International producers of architectural systems, in order to renovate all frames in Google buildings in Manhattan, at 111 8th Avenue (an area of 27 hectares).
For this specific project, Alumil R&D department was assigned to develop a pioneer and state of the art architectural hinged system, with a very low coefficient of thermal transmittance, in order to meet the very tide energy requirements specified by Google, which were close to the Passive Building specs. The “Google System” was designed, engineered and tested under the strict American specs of AAMA institute for window walls that emphasize on the massive constructions and the high levels of air permeability and water tightness.
One of the interesting characteristics of this system is also the exterior shading with louvers specially designed for restraining the ice under extreme weather conditions.
The assignment of this enormous project confirms once more the superiority of Alumil architectural systems and the company’s know-how in regard of the design of state of the art aluminum architectural systems.
