Sky Bar | Ester Bruzkus Architekten
Saint Petersburg / Russian Federation / 2014
The glimpses upon exiting the lift on the 18th floor unfold into overwhelming views as guests enter the Sky bar. The panorama of the city skyline is framed by the large floor to ceiling windows and provides the perfect backdrop while enjoying a drink or light meal. Extending partly along wood-panelled walls with seating niches and partly along the large glass facade, the bar is emphasized by the contrast of black painted walls and a white Carrara marble counter – the centerpiece of the Sky bar. The lofty feel is accentuated by large light tubes arranged randomly above the seating clusters of sofas and chairs. Floor and table lamps as well as fabrics of different shades of red add a homey touch. Here in the Sky bar guests can enjoy their drinks in a special, cool, but also cosy atmosphere high above the roofs of St. Petersburg.
