In the west green area of Rome, called “La Pisana”, there is a holiday residence that has a big park that needs to be restored.
Sandrini intervened by elaborating a redevelopment project for all the exterior area, which is aimed at joining the house with the garden and giving again value to the abandoned landscape.
The inspiration comes from classic and it takes the cue from the historic tradition of patrician villas embellished with terraces, staircases, birdcages, water effects, lush and majestic avenues.
The brick wall that separates the villa from the park is turned into a double monumental staircase with nymphaeum which leads to a second terrace with an Italian-style garden. From here, it is possible to go down to a vast flat and sunlit area where a swimming pool, a summer pavilion and a classical colonnade are located as the backstage of a big perspective axis.
A new system of pathways runs through the property passing by a small ornamental lake which is created by taking advantage of the natural depression of the ground, a small temple and a terrace with olive trees and cypresses.
The vegetation is various and luxuriant: topiary Buxus, Hydrangeas, ancient roses near the house; succulent palm trees and flowered shrubs around the swimming pool, water lilies, aquatic and collection plants for the small lake.
