Introduction

This extensive and extremely panoramic residence with two entrances is located on the first floor of an antique building right in the center of Amalfi.

The intention of the owners which became the mission of the project, was to divide the residence in two vacation houses to be allocated to their two daughters, therefore, the first approach was addressed to the distributional and functional aspects of the rooms. The commitment was then projected towards the choices of the finishes and the design of the  furniture that were of primary importance  in the  space of the resized single apartments.

In both residences  - very different in the finishes which reflect the different taste of both sisters – the main protagonists are the vaulted frescoed ceilings, which were hidden by the previous refurbishement in the 1960's, and the sea that on particularly clear days makes your gaze deeply sink  up to Punta Licosa. These two elements were the source of inspiration of the project.

HOUSE "B"

The apartment consists of one bedroom, a spacious living room partially with loft, a kitchen, two bathrooms and a small laundry room.

In this house there are two main elements: the blue color of the walls with the cobalt blue decorations of Saracenic inspiration and the ceramic pavement.

The blue decoration starts from the entrance and it combines in various ways in the other rooms of the house: in the living room and in the kitchen it widens and becomes a wide mat, while in the bathrooms it becomes a meander that's the ending point of the coating.

The loft overlooks the small living room and the floral inspired frescoes that surround the room turn up at the height of the impost of the vault.  As already mentioned, the pavement is coated by the decorated ceramic mat, while the staircase is designed so that on one side there's a closet (towards the kitchen) and on the other side there's an accommodation for the tv.

The second bathroom is very particular, not only for the peculiar planimetric configuration, but also for the presence of a arch shaped small iron window that frames a wonderful glimpse of the Amalfi

coast: among the houses clinging on the rock emerges a candid old monastery which is now the Hotel Luna.
