EN - Marazzi today has new headquarters thanks to the refurbishment of the historic site close to the centre of Sassuolo where the company was founded exactly 80 years ago and where it today employs a workforce of more than 900.

In the presence of President of the Emilia-Romagna Region Stefano Bonaccini and the Mayor of Sassuolo Claudio Pistoni, the Group's new headquarters were inaugurated with the completely refurbished office block, the two new showrooms for the Marazzi and Ragno brands and the historic Crogiolo, now completely refurbished and returned to active service.

The new office building, which forms part of the buildings on the Sassuolo industrial site, covers a total area of 4,000 sq.m. and was subjected to a complex operation of exterior redressing that emphasises the original 'H' shaped architecture, not to mention the comprehensive interior refurbishment of plant and technological systems.

The concept of the new Marazzi showroom, with an interior covering 1,550 sq.m. and exterior of 1,060, is centred around the theme “Look up”. From the 3 huge, 6-metre high towers, which are covered in ceramics and characterise the space, everything revolves around the idea that ceramic tiles, when viewed from a perspective that differs from the everyday, can be an invitation to look upwards.

The new showroom has a strong international character and involves a multipurpose style, from the residential, to the contract, and even to great works of architecture. In addition, the windows onto Via Regina Pacis have been reopened and extended to cover the length of the building, a constant point of contact with passersby.

In contrast, the nearby Ragno showroom, with its 710 sq.m. of interior space and 170 sq.m. outdoor area, rotates around the concept of the 'Home' and residential projects, with a vast range of ceramic coverings designed to provide the ideal skin for each room.

“Il Crogiolo” is the oldest part of Marazzi, providing an historic link with the first industrial site dating back to the 1930's. In the 1980's “Il Crogiolo” became a brand in its own right and functioned as Marazzi's 'experimental' division. At the time, the site hosted an endless stream of artists and designers keen to try out new ideas and apply their creativity and cutting edge solutions to the world of ceramics. The space, which totals more than 850 sq.m. on two floors,was subjected to a careful conservative restoration project which, in deference to the historic legacy of the company and the entire district, breathes new life into this impressive location. All projects are designed by the architect Gianluca Rossi, Uainot of Architects, who collaborated for several years with the company to design spaces Marazzi and Ragno all over the world.

The official opening of the 'new Marazzi' in Sassuolo, which follows on the heels of the ribboncutting ceremony of the new production plant in Fiorano Modenese, inaugurated just three weeks ago in an event attended by Italian Minister for Constitutional Reform Maria Elena Boschi, provide the perfect setting to announce the period of major development and renewal that the world's top ceramic company is currently undergoing.

In the words of Marazzi CEO Mauro Vandini «We have just completed a major recuperation and redevelopment project that was not merely aimed at restoring and improving the original industrial functions but instead provides a vivid example, for the company and for the broader international public, of a range of contemporary uses of ceramic coverings for residential settings, contract projects and also large-scale architectural works».

Vandini went on to point out that «Il Crogiolo is a source of pride as we applaud its rebirth during Marazzi's 80 year anniversary celebrations; I'm convinced that it will once again become a dynamic space, hosting events and initiatives with a clear cultural and communicative connotation, not just for our organisation but for the entire city».

IT - Marazzi ha oggi un nuovo headquarter, risultato di un’importante ristrutturazione della storica sede in prossimità del centro di Sassuolo, dove l’azienda è nata esattamente 80 anni fa e dove oggi lavorano più di 900 persone.

La nuova sede principale del Gruppo, inaugurata a settembre, include la palazzina uffici completamente rinnovata, i due nuovi showroom dedicati ai marchi Marazzi e Ragno e lo storico Crogiolo completamente recuperato.

La nuova palazzina uffici, che fa parte degli edifici del sito industriale di Sassuolo, occupa complessivamente quasi 4.000 mq, ed è stata oggetto all’esterno di una complessa opera di redressing che ne risalta ora l’originale architettura a forma di “H” e, all’interno di una totale ristrutturazione anche impiantistica e tecnologica.

Il nuovo showroom dedicato al marchio Marazzi, oltre 1500 mq all'interno e oltre 1000 all'esterno, nasce con il concepit di “Guardare oltre”. A partire dalle 3 grandi torri monoliti di 6 m di altezza rivestite in ceramica che lo caratterizzano, tutto ruota infatti sull’idea che le piastrelle ceramiche, in una prospettiva diversa rispetto al consueto, possano essere un invito anche ad alzare lo sguardo. Il nuovo showroom ha una forte connotazione internazionale, parla un linguaggio trasversale che va dal residenziale, al contract fino alle grandi opere di architettura.

Accanto, separato dal nuovo ingresso centrale aperto su Via Regina Pacis, lo show room Ragno, - oltre 700 mq. interni e circa 200 mq. esterni – che ruota invece intorno al concetto di “Casa” e al tema residenziale, con le varie declinazioni della ceramica in grado di valorizzare i diversi ambienti domestici.

Entrambi gli showroom, si affacciano, con ampie vetrine che si sviluppano per tutta la lunghezza dell’edificio, su Via Regina Pacis in contatto costante con il pubblico transitante.
Il Crogiolo è il luogo Marazzi più antico, riferimento storico del primo insediamento industriale negli anni ’30 in cui si producevano le prime piastrelle di ceramica Marazzi. Il nome Crogiolo risale invece agli anni ’80, quando l’edificio divenne un Centro di ricerca aperto alle sperimentazioni di artisti, architetti, ceramisti chiamati a sperimentare usi nuovi e creativi del prodotto ceramico. Lo spazio, di oltre 850 mq. su due piani, è stato protagonista di un attento restauro conservativo che, nel rispetto della valenza storica che gli è propria per l’azienda e per l’intero Distretto, lo riporta a nuova vita.

Tutti i progetti sono opera dell’architetto Gianluca Rossi, di Uainot Architetti, che da anni collabora con l’azienda per il design degli spazi Marazzi e Ragno nel mondo. L’apertura ufficiale della “nuova Marazzi” di Sassuolo segue quella del nuovo stabilimento produttivo di Fiorano Modenese, inaugurato solo tre settimane fa insieme, tra gli altri, al Ministro per le Riforme Costituzionali Maria Elena Boschi, e rappresenta al meglio la fase di grande sviluppo e rinnovamento che la prima azienda ceramica sta vivendo.

«Quella portata a termine è stata un’opera di grande recupero e sviluppo - afferma Mauro Vandini, Amministratore Delegato di Marazzi – non solo volta a ripristinarne e migliorarne le funzioni industriali originarie ma anche a rappresentare di per sé stessa e a livello internazionale un esempio dei moderni utilizzi della ceramica, oltre che per il residenziale e il contract, anche per le grandi opere architettoniche».

«Quanto al Crogiolo - aggiunge Vandini – è motivo di grande orgoglio vederlo rinascere proprio durante i festeggiamenti degli 80 anni di Marazzi; sono convinto che tornerà ad essere spazio di eventi e manifestazioni e a dare una chiara connotazione culturale e di comunicazione non solo all’azienda ma all’intera città».
