HERR LEUTNER 2015 | Leonie Spitzer

Georg Leutner's family is doing images since 100 years. Since 6 years he has got a shop and workshop on Westbahnstrasse. He wanted to transform the showroom in an meaningful and unique selling point where costumers can get inspired and relax at the same time. 

As the facade of the opopsite buildign is reflecting on to the shop windows the task was to create visibility and communication to the strech of Westbahnstrasse - the adress in Vienna where photographers can find all they need. The interior orientation- a kitchenette, window sills with pillows, the cash desk are and two exhibition walls are facing towards the street, so pedestrians can be attired with the activities inside the Shop. 

The space is designed for either leisure time where sitting and just beeing is warmly welcomed by the team and as an exhibition space. There are 3 so called "playgrounds" where monthly 3 interested artists have the possibilty to exhibit their framed works for free. 

The communication inbetween the frameworkshop behind and the Showroom in front is simplyfied through an open shelf made out of golden frames in a door frame. Images which need a framing get filed into the shelf from front while craftsmen can take them from behind to frame them right away.

The atmosphere of the space should inspire the creative urges.
