The Borneo Sporenburg development is purely a residential area having an urban character with lack of local shops and facilities which may lead to increased car dependency and subsequent parking problems. However, the Amsterdam’s centre is only a 15 minutes bike ride distance.

Linving in Borneo

How do people live in Borneo-Spoerenburg district in Amsterdam? Around this question we have created the project “LIVING TOGHETER IN BORNEO”. The aim of the project is complete an existing residential area: in other words add lacking elements and improve the current place conditions. But in which way? Our project proposes a well founded space who offers facilities both to resident and tourists. This project will create a new community of people, either autochthonous or foreign. They will live around a small and original place at the same time. The project will revalue the local identity and the new landmarks (new houses) and it will create new attractive points and amusement areas (such as a stairway, parks and a canoes wharf). In addition we will use simple and ecological furniture (red cube made of recycled plastic). Thanks to this project the residential district Borneo-Spoerenburg could become a pleasant and peaceful place and an interesting tourist destination.
