A house with no partition Paris / France / 2011
The building’s core, floors and ceilings are entirely paneled with Admonter locust wood parquet. Cooperation with Austrian firm Tischlerei Bereuter ensured optimum quality of woodwork. Enthusiastic about «being involved in the design process until the last moment,» Martin Bereuter and his team were responsible for wooden paneling, kitchen furnishing, as well as the doors and storage built into the core. Bereuter’s main challenge was to produce a kind of tailored suit for the steel structure: his prefabricated panels had to form a seamless surface, with every joint fitting precisely throughout the building’s 10-meter height.
