Memorial and park for MH17 flight victims, Amsterdam Amsterdam / Netherlands / 2014

"The Route" is a project for the international competition "MH17 Memorial + Park" held by matterbetter.com. Its purpose its to design an artificial island for the memorial dedicated to the 298 victims tragically died in the accident of the MH17 flight, taken off from the Amsterdam airport headed for Kuala Lumpur, but crashed near Torez in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. The memorial has to be for everyone - the place for the people who are directly connected to the tragedy and for the world in general.
Our idea is to recreate the airplane route and to give the visitors a place where to stop and think about the time we have in our life.
