KITCHEN | DINING AREA
The ground floor of this house is designed as an open space, giving a wider feeling to the narrow existing space. The kitchen is placed in the west wall: an all-in-one cabinet with 5 low modules (for bottle storage, dishwasher, sink, drawers, stove and oven) and 1 higher module (for the fridge and freezer).
On the central area of this plan, there’s the stairs to the upper floor and the dining area, with a 6-seats table and a console for dinnerware storage.
LIVING ROOM
The east wall of the living area is fully occupied by a built-in cabinet, that functions both as a support for the tv and fireplace, as well as a storage space. The private areas of this floor, not included in the open space concept, are placed at the southeast part of the plan, accessible by a disguised door: the bathroom, that benefits from natural light and ventilation, and the laundry/storage space, that has direct access to the exterior garden.
STAIRS
The design of the stairs, with a light structure, thin steps and minimal handrail, reduces the impact of this vertical element on the open space concept, allowing see-through views from all the ground floor.
BEDROOM
The upper floor is designed as an intimate, exclusively private area – where the bedrooms (master bedroom and single bedroom) and the full bathroom are placed. While the master bedroom is placed on the west side of the plan, with a more traditional configuration, the single bedroom is placed on the opposite part of the floor, adapting itself to the irregular shape of the existing exterior walls. Thus, this bedroom is composed by two different areas: one sleeping/study, and the other for dressing/relaxing.
Taking advantage of the only window of the house with views for the city castle, the southeast area of this bedroom is designed as a relax/reading/chilling zone, with a cozy carpet and poufs.
