Originally built in the 19th century as a general store with a 4th floor & new façade added in the 1940s, the Buttrey Building housed a variety of offices before falling into disrepair. Its raw condition provided an unusual opportunity in Austin, Texas for the 6500 sqft office headquarters of Peddle.com. We used reclaimed wood and a custom designed light fixture (an amazing collaboration with Warbach Lighting & Design) to create a space that balances the rough and the smooth in a truly unique way. The office was chosen for an AIA award in collaboration with Alterstudio.
