Underground parking and public plaza Luis Seoane | Díaz y Díaz Arquitectos
A Coruña / Spain / 2004
This project was the creation of a rectangular underground car park with two-way vehicular access at opposite ends and from different streets, both connected by interior ramps in the middle of the car park. This achieves a uniform occupation of both floors, favouring equitable distribution of vehicles on the two levels during rush hour.
There are five pedestrian access points are in the square above the car park perfectly integrated into the environment. These permit convenient entrance from any nearby point, so that no-one using the car park has to go more than 35 metres to reach an exit.
Lastly, the finishes have been designed to provide Luis Seone Plaza with a quality public space. So, concrete seating areas were created, along with large lawns and different species of trees and plants that provide harmony to the ensemble.
