Refurbishment of a 145 sqm family apartment Paris / France / 2012
The place was originally a classic apartment in a 1920s building. The clients wanted a contemporary space without completely losing the spirit of the place. Attention has been focused on the central living room, off of which branch all of the rooms of the apartment. Five doors open onto this room, and they have been slimmed, lengthened, and custom designed. They open on pivots that uncover the rooms that hide behind the doors, and each room is a different color. The doors have also been put into perspective, so that they are always visible from the surrounding rooms, thus creating a space that is calm yet dynamic at the same time.
