Cyclists Camping Shelter Chouzé-sur-Loire / France / 2014
The shape of a tiny house refers to most of the vineyard shelters along the countryside; these were built by stone and stones will be the material for this project too, refering also to floodwalls the entire project is made by gabions: a sustainable and reversible process of construction, solid and a good choice against malicious acts.
A steel structure will be hidden inside the gabbions, in order to sustain roof and entrances.
This project is intended as a both day and night shelter, most of the loire a velò users usually sleep in camping, so, why do not use this place as a camping lot?
On the ground floor cyclists will find some seatings and a “table” for bike repairing, the terrace on the upper level can be used as a lookout point to the river or to place a tent, away from the ground in the rainy days.
The two floors can be used by different people, in the meanwhile someone is sleeping or reading a book on the terrace, someone else can rest on the ground floor.
This camping lodge is intended as an open room, simple and with no maintaining costs.
