La casa nel cielo

A mountain cottage on Lake Maggiore to be restored and expanded. The absolutely unique position with a breathtaking view that sweeps over the town below and Lake Maggiore in the direction of Switzerland.

The original building was demolished and the volume, with enlargement, was moved a few meters, compared to the original position, due to a constraint given by a small stream that touched it.

The designer's intent was to reconstruct the typical shapes of the rustic valleys of the upper Verbano, with stone for the walls, roofing in dark slabs and wooden vaults, but with an element of "contemporary breaking" the breach of the large glass wall. towards the lake view that vertically cuts the entire wall and recalls the openings of the old mountain barns.

The building is located in a wooded bend that precludes solar radiation in the winter months, this has led to particular attention in the stratigraphy (20 cm. Rock wool with variable density in the roof, 16 cm. Panels in eps with additives) graphite in the walls and all the double-chamber windows) as well as a maniacal correction of all thermal bridges. In fact, despite the unfavorable exposure, the building is thermally efficient reaching class "A".

Un rustico di montagna sul Lago Maggiore da ristrutturare e ampliare. La posizione assolutamente unica con una vista mozzafiato che spazia sul paese sottostante e sul lago Maggiore in direzione della Svizzera. 

Il fabbricato originario è stato demolito e la volumetria, con ampliamento, è stata spostata di pochi metri, rispetto alla posizione originaria, causa un vincolo dato da un piccolo riale che lo lambiva.

Intento del progettista è stato di ricostruire le forme tipiche del rustico delle valli dell'alto Verbano, con pietra a vista per le murature, copertura in lastre scure e voltini in legno, ma con elemento di "rottura contemporanea" lo sfondato della grande parete vetrata verso il panorama a lago che taglia verticalmente tutta la parete e che richiama le aperture dei vecchi fienili di montagna.

Il fabbricato si trova in un ansa boscata che ne preclude l'irraggiamento solare nei mesi invernali, questo ha comportato un'attenzione particolare nelle stratigrafie (20 cm. lana di roccia a densità variabile nella copertura, pannelli da 16 cm. in eps addittivato con grafite nelle pareti e tutte le vetrate a doppia camera) oltre ad una maniacale correzione di tutti i ponti termici. Infatti nonostante l'esposizione sfavorevole il fabbricato è termicamente efficiente raggiungendo la classe "A" .
