Liberberg Addition | Damian Trostinetzky
A gem in the forest Rockville / United States / 2014
Nature is there to capture it. And as Architects it's a challenge that needs to be assumed when the opportunity arise.
That was the motto for this addition. the back of the house face a wooded area with a creek and wild animals. In this design, the house became the seat where you can relax and enjoy the outdoors from every corner in every season of the year. Natural light floods the inside from many directions. Even at night.
It was a conciously decision to add more space without changing the footprint of the built environment, to enjoy more nature.
The language of the design is definetely modern but the composition and the layering of the diverse materials and volumes make an impact without being a strange fellow in the established neighborhood.
The new volume embrace the old in a sophisticated way.
It appears that the house was built like that originally.Timeless.
The scope of work included adding a master suite, relocate the kitchen, renovation of all bathrooms, adding a deck and an overall repair of the existing house.
The project was built in 2014, in North Bethesda, Maryland, USA.
