Under the original roof of this house built in 1957, a contemporary layout was configured, exposing the hipped geometry that is typically concealed with flat ceilings. When overlaid onto new rectilinear interior spaces, this prosaic roof shape creates moments of complexity and compression, with compound angles raking through the spaces.

Lined with oak paneling, the interior is like a jewel box that elegantly enables the clients to viscerally experience all four seasons, via courtyards and sunken gardens carved out of the floor plan.
