Penthouse Hanoi | Locatelli Partners

Located in Hanoi, this project involved the renovation of three upper floors of an important building, encompassing the social standing of the owner, and combining Italian culture for the materials and design with the incredible handcrafted works in the Vietnamise style.
The space was entirely designed creating a huge “crystal prism” built in the middle of the floors: the volume, as a heart for the house, connects all the levels with a vertical light from the top. On the ground floor it exists as a floor lamp, at the first floor it is accessible as a temple for meditation overlooking the West Lake of Hanoi, and on the last floor it acts as a bespoke coffee table for the living room area.
Craftmanship of local tradition have been combined with the Italian experience: stone frames are hand carved creating an idea of a soft 3D flower lace, the marble is cut to create a bamboo forest and the wardrobes produced in Italy are lacquered in the Vietnamese style.

Key pieces of furniture are placed within the house as an heterogeneous collection scattered within the space without strict rules, as per the customized West Lake Table in brass, a unique production as a tribute to the city.
