The public artwork Genothek is a spirally shaped composition of nearly fourty extruded aluminium bookcases in different shades of grey and ochre. It is the library for 1 genome in front of the department of molecular biology of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, whichs opens in 2015.As the lower shelves can be used for sitting, the library can serve as an outdoor place for meetings and recreation on the campus.
