A new clinic for the HHS Ontario Breast Screening Program, including patient waiting and change space, mammography and ultrasound procedure rooms, administration offices, and support spaces in an existing building.

The design was focused on creating a decidedly non-institutional, calm, soothing environment for patients, as well as a high quality workplace for staff in this busy clinic. The design pays careful attention to materials, lighting and colour in creating a positive experience for patients, all women who are typically over 50 years old. The patients move through the clinic without the need to open any doors, with privacy assured using baffles of translucent glazing cast with plants and herbs, located and backlit to provide a soft, warm environment.
