Two-O-Four Chair

Living alone in a small apartment during university years (studying architecture), made me aware of every single thing going in and of of the door. After a couple of weeks I was realizing how many plastic water bottles I was buying, drinking, and throwing away (not even being sure whether they are really recycled (as glass is) or not). So these bottles started to fill my cabinets, drawers and shelves of my 25sqm apartment. After telling a friend, he started buying the same brand of water and bringing me the empty bottles during class time in uni.
The idea of the chair came with a quick calculation of the number of items I collected, around 230.
When I had to start thinking how to practically stick them together, I took an air compressor and inflated them all, sealing the lid with some silicone, so they would stay hard and compressed. Building layer by layer, they have been placed into a sort of rectangular mould and a stripe of silicone has been laid between them. When the three layers were ready, other silicone has been placed on the top of the lids, so as to match the bottoms of the bottles on top. Four of them were kept loosen in order to place the small LED light inside.
After 3 years of collecting and 4 days for mounting it, the chair is now ready.
