House in the middle of picturesque glade with river view. Sounds like a fairytale scenery? Not necessarily. Such house was desiged for a family guarding their privacy by architecture office 81.WAW.PL.

The main idea of this project was to separate main building from the street to make it quiet and more private while blending it into the surroundings. To achieve such effect, architects divided the house into two parts blocks. The main entrance is located by the driveway, a bit hidden and hard to notice at the first sight. This effect was possible thanks to the stone wall “growing out” of the ground.. In the central side is situated a garage with a green roof also surrounded by walls growing out of the ground, is situated in the central part, next to the main entrance.. These solutions create an atmosphere of intimacy around the house and partial isolation from the street. that residents wanted.

The building stands in the middle of scenic field, therefore the front part was covered with field stone in order to blend the house into the surroundings and yet separate it from the street. Additional advantage of its localisation on a slope is the river view from the south side.

On the other side of the building, a small reservoir was designed to perfectly fulfill nature and softly surround the main entrance and the daily zone.

From the garden side the house shows its other face. It’s the main part with living room, bedrooms, bathrooms and wardrobe. Here, instead of heavy stone walls we have white, glazed annex. Pavilion.

The roof is extended to the walls in order to create adequate shelter. Its biggest part is located in the corner.
