The growing of Guadalajara city and his upgrades to new circumstances has caused urban waste places; the final image caused is deterioration and isolatation; because of his abundance it damages the immediate zone and the global aspect of the city, the visitors and habitants.
In the 50’s there were built many avenues across Guadalajara. This led to the collapse of many houses, parcially or totally, which generated a really big urban scar.
Since then the scar hasn’t closed yet. Because of that, Don Julio de la Pena, in those days leader of the National Architecture Academy program of Guadalajara, presented to the Guadalajara city hall a first project to clean this spaces, in the old Murguía avenue, today Enrique Díaz de León. The final objective was to transform that in a dignified and usable space as part of the image of the city.
The Project have simple features. To generate a new façade in the corner and implement a bank as a bus parade; including some plants and a system of metallic channels that allows to clean the graffiti.
This plan was seen with good eyes and there was always the idea that this project would need the participation of every involved part: the authorities, the professionals and the society.
