Nothing better than a country house proposal to inspire the idea of a barn. Following the contemporary and minimal concepts, this project - which takes place on the countryside, near São Paulo, Brazil - had as a premise being a one-story house and as main challenge to meet the needs of acoustic and thermal comfort, keeping all the functions of a single family home. For that the project is divided in three parts.
The first one is the barn, axis to the project and withholds three different spaces - the entrance hall, a central terrace and the master suite. The terrace, in the middle of the barn, has a pergola roof allowing natural light to the interior of the house and also brings the nature and the sky into the house. The pergola is covered in landscaping, giving the idea of a public square, meeting point at any time.
The other two parts of the project are the side blocs that divide the program of the house. Living and social area and intimate area. Lower ceiling height, lots of glass and well defined spaces give the cosiness of an country house.
