Il progetto prevede la realizzazione di una Panchina Tecnologica che si propone come nuovo strumento di aggregazione sociale. Oltre alla funzione primaria di offrire un momento di relax, questa si presenta all’utente offrendogli una ampia possibilità di interazione diretta che in seguito illustreremo. I due elementi strutturali laterali sono in acciaio e riprendono la forma della lettera Delta dell’alfabeto Greco, mentre la parte dello schienale e della seduta sono listelli di legno, la forma studiata permette di posizionare all’interno di essa un sistema elettronico che anima la panchina e che la fa inserire in una rete visualizzabile, mediante sistema GPS, su supporti elettronici quali smartphone o tablet. Nella parte superiore della panchina è posizionato un pannello fotovoltaico, mentre al suo interno è collocato il sistema per l’accumulo dell’energia elettrica utile per le varie funzioni che la panchina offre, oltre a quella della seduta. Sempre al suo intero si è deciso di integrare un sistema audio gestibile dall’esterno tramite smartphone o tablet. Un servizio utile di questi tempi è quello della “ricarica elettrica a induzione” per smartphone: nella parte centrale della seduta abbiamo collocato una piastra a induzione dove sarà sufficiente appoggiare il proprio telefono per poterlo ricaricare senza l’ausilio di cavi. Sul retro della panchina, nella parte bassa è collocata un’aiuola di sezione circolare ed alcuni faretti Led, alimentati dal sistema di accumulo interno, ne garantiranno una adeguata illuminazione durante le ore serali. Per l’interazione con “Panktek” si è pensato ad una applicazione che, una volta installata sul proprio smartphone, permetta all’utente di interagire con la panchina e con il sistema di panchine installate in molteplici ambiti urbani. In questo modo, dal proprio dispositivo, è possibile localizzare la panchina tecnologica più vicina, è possibile sapere i brani musicali che questa sta trasmettendo, ciò permette di convogliare verso una panchina piuttosto che un’altra, persone con interessi e gusti musicali comuni, favorendo così l’interazione reale tra le persone che fino a quel momento non si conoscono. Un ulteriore servizio che può essere offerto è quello relativo all’informazione, ovvero, ogni panchina, sempre mediante il sistema audio e l’interazione tramite supporto mobile, può offrire informazioni storico-geografiche rispetto al contesto in cui è collocata. In casi particolari un sistema di panchine situate in un ambito locale definito possono trasmettere la stessa canzone o lo stesso concerto fungendo così da catalizzatore per un determinato evento. Ovviamente devono essere posizionate ad una certa distanza l’una dalle altre, in modo che il suono di ciascuna non vada a sovrapporsi con quelle nelle vicinanze, che non superi una certa soglia di decibel oppure che non sia attivabile oltre un certo orario della notte. Oltre alla forma che è stata data alla panchina, è interessante ciò che essa può offrire: il fatto che è in parte autosufficiente dal punto di vista energetico, grazie al pannello fotovoltaico, che permette così di poter ricaricare un telefono o illuminare i Led presenti nell’aiuola, piuttosto che l’ascolto di musica e di informazioni utili sul luogo, proprio grazie a queste diverse caratteristiche è fruibile da persone di ogni età.
