The structure consists of two main buildings connected by a large U-shaped foyer about 4,000 square metres in size. The functional areas will be about 21,000 square meters on the ground floor and about 6,000 on the first floor. The first building is clamshell-shaped, 60 m in diameter and made up of two functional floors. The clamshell will accommodate a 1,600-seater amphitheatre on the first floor with fixed seats, which can be divided into two 800-seater rooms. On top of the clamshell, a panoramic restaurant with large windows may be used for exclusive events. There is also a 300-seater room with fixed furniture and a sloping floor, eight 30-seater breakout rooms, 4 medium-small sized rooms and twelve 50-200 seater rooms. The second building, connected to the first through the foyer, contains the main hall which is almost 5,000 square metres in size. This reaches a maximum height of 17 metres outside, and 12 m inside. Mobile and soundproofed walls mean that it can be divided into a maximum of eight independent rooms, each with their own entrance. On the ground floor there are also two further modular 600 and 450 seater rooms, which can be further divided into two rooms each; as well as a 280 seater room and three breakout rooms. This means that the new facility will have a capacity of 43 rooms, 9,300 seats and a main hall capable of accommodating 4,700 attendees. Two underground areas, which are located below the Conference Centre and Auditorium, will become car parks for up to 1,000 vehicles. The project envisages that the two underground car parks be connected by a tunnel crossing Via della Fiera. In this way the external gardens will not be affected. La struttura è composta da due corpi principali collegati da un ampio foyer, di 4.000 metri quadrati circa, a forma di “U”. Le aree calpestabili saranno di circa 21.000 mq al piano terra e di circa 6.000 al primo piano. Ad assumere la forma di una conchiglia, con 60 m di diametro, è il primo corpo, composto da due piani calpestabili. Al primo piano la conchiglia ospiterà un anfiteatro da 1.600 posti con poltrone fisse, divisibile in due sale da 800 sedute. In cima alla conchiglia un ristorante panoramico con grandi vetrate potrà essere utilizzato per eventi esclusivi. È inoltre prevista una sala da 300 posti con arredi fissi e pavimento inclinato, 8 breakout rooms da 30 posti, 4 sale medio-piccole e 12 sale da 50 a 200 sedute. Il secondo corpo, collegato al primo attraverso il foyer, contiene la sala principale che si estende per quasi 5.000 metri quadrati. Questa raggiunge una altezza massima esterna di 17 metri, ed interna di 12 m; pareti mobili e isolate acusticamente la rendono suddivisibile fino a otto sale autonome, ognuna con ingresso autonomo. Al piano terra sono inoltre previste due ulteriori sale modulari rispettivamente da 600 e da 450 posti, suddivisibili a loro volta in due sale ciascuna; nonché una sala da 280 posti e tre breakout rooms. Questo significa che la nuova struttura potrà vantare una capienza massima di 43 sale, 9.300 sedute ed una sala principale in grado di ospitare 4.700 partecipanti. Due spazi sotterranei, collocati al di sotto del Palacongressi e dell’Auditorium, diventeranno parcheggi in grado di contenere complessivamente fino a 1.000 posti auto. Il progetto prevede che i due parcheggi sotterranei siano tra loro collegati da un tunnel che attraverserà via Della Fiera. In tal modo non saranno penalizzati all’esterno gli spazi verdi.
