The project of Catalão House unfolds itself after two conditioning aspects: the topography and the surroundings. The rugged terrain defined the volumes distribution in levels that contain the intimate, collective and services areas. The surroundings defined the position of each one of these rooms. In the higher area of the terrain, due to it´s privileged view, the intimate rooms are located; some of them permeated by winter gardens that create thermal ans visual comfort in the house, and also the rooms with double height ceilings which magnifies the comfort of the collective spaces. On the other hand, at the lower part of the area, due the lack of a contemplative view, a new landscape was created with the elaboration of a orchard that besides providing a new visual, also provided a refuge and resting space for those who live in the house. The leisure and service areas are responsible for connecting the ands of the house, the pool house, the porch, the kitchen and the services do the mediation be twin the house and the orchard.
