This low energy family home located on the heights of Liège reinterprets typical home design governed by local urban codes. The building stands on a very steep slope outside. We integrate this concept inside the house by adding a staircase that follows the natural slope of the ground. We revisit the typical Liége house, reversing the traditional layout of spaces. The living room is located on the top floor while the bedrooms are located on the lower floors. In this way we optimize the views for each level. Light from the south side street enters the house via a glass staircase in front. Worked as a full-fledged space, it induces visual and spatial contacts between levels. The brick exterior (imposed by urban building code) was designed to filter views from the street.
