Ristrutturazione e ampliamento di edificio liberty - Liberty building restoration and extension | Salvatore Putzu

L’intervento consiste nel restauro ed ampliamento del piano terra di un edificio liberty al centro di Sassari. Tale piano, praticamente abbandonato è stato connesso al piano primo, in cui risiede attualmente la committenza, mediante una scala interna e completamente rimodernato per creare una zona giorno (cucina, soggiorno e bagno ospiti) che si affacciano su un giardino privato, al cui interno è stata creata una piattaforma rivestita in basalto, che permette l’accesso diretto in macchina dalla strada e crea un posto auto all’interno del giardino. Quindi l’intervento migliora la funzionalità dell’impianto distributivo della casa, permettendo ai l’accesso diretto dal portone principale, oppure dalla strada, accedendo al giardino. Per realizzare l’intervento è stato necessario recuperare la muratura esistente soggetta a gravi problemi di umidità, realizzare un’apertura nel solaio per inserire la scala e creare nuove aperture nelle mura storiche e addizionare un nuovo volume, nel quale è stata realizzata la cucina. La scelta progettuale ha voluto mantenere un distacco netto tra l’esistente e l’intervento realizzato, anche nella finitura dei materiali scelti, infatti i muri esistenti all’interno sono stati trattati in maniera leggermente diversa rispetto a quelli di nuova realizzazione. Anche in facciata l’intervento è stato differenziato, ma solo nella parte che si affaccia sul cortile interno, per non danneggiare il prospetto storico dell’edificio sulla strada pubblica. Le finiture, prevedono l’utilizzo di un pavimento ceramico che dall’interno prosegue fino al giardino, e di un rivestimento ligneo per le scale. Grande attenzione è stata posta nella realizzazione di mobili in legno laccato bianco e plexiglass, realizzati su misura. The project consist into the restoration and extension of the lowest floor of a Liberty building in the town centre. Such floor, nearly abandoned, was connected by means of an internal stairs to the upper floor, where the client actually lives. It was completely restored and renewed to create a living room, a kitchen and a guests’ bathroom, that open up to the private garden. Here a platform, paneled with basalt plates, was raised to guarantee direct car access to the house. So the intervention is meant to improve the functionality of space distribution and access, allowing the clients to access the house both from the main door and the garage door in the garden. In order to complete the intervention, a long restoration work was needed for the walls where dramatically affected by rising damp. In addition to this, the main work consisted into creating an aperture in the slab floor to place the stair, create new passageways into the historical walls and create a new volume, where the kitchen was located. The architect choice was that of creating a difference between the existing walls and the new ones, carefully picking slightly different finishes for the interior walls, and a different neutral color for the external wall facing the inner garden. On the walls facing the public street, since the intervention was minimal, the façade finishes was maintained. Interior finishes include a continous ceramic floor for both the interior and the exterior flooring, and wood paneling for the stairs. Peculiar attention was given to the design of tailor cut white lacquered furniture and doors and plexiglass elements.
