Unlevelled House | Ramón Esteve Estudio

The housing is placed in an irregular, rough orography solar. The architecture itself absorbs the difference in the spot height of the land. Like a glassed-in balcony of the landscape, it acts as an articulated element between the flat access space and the important unevenness which the housing opens out to. The plan is resolved into massive prismatic volumes, built of loading stone-walls, whose height is determined by the hierarchy of uses. An element of shade, wood and copper, accompanies us from the entry, and acts as a transitional element between the human scale and the great scale these volumes acquire, and it transforms into a constant reference in the outside of the house. Once the threshold is crossed, the unevenness makes the magnitude of the field widens, offering the sensation of a non-obstacle visual expansion.
