In and architectually imposing building such as the Jockey Club, a Design and Art Fair will follow an important event that gifted us with much of its residue that shall compose a backdrop and be used as a precept.
Along with this motto, the scenography created for MADE by the Atelier, was thought of in an interventionist way: modifying the existent and unmasking it; surfacing the hidden architecture, reutilizing pre-existing works and, specially, thinking of it as a design installation. Actions such as to “transform”, “reveal”, “reutilize”, represent the scenography’s concept through section cuts on the walls and ceilings and also by using industrial detriments which together pose a question of how the designer positions himself when faced with the world and its misuse.
An intervention that slowly unfolds, uncovering paths and sights, praising foundations and what has always been hidden: from the “ugly” to the “beautiful”; from chaos to order, inspiring reflections on the making of design and, presenting it as intention and creation of new possibilities.
