Founded in 2007 in Lisbon with a strong connection to Ponta Delgada, box is based on a creative foundation, possibly unexpected, capable of questioning instituted architectural vocabulary and concepts.

With an original language, the studio explores the dialogue between form, location and function on an extensive and troughly level in order to find the explanation of the individual and the site. The rigorous scale and proportion relationship is an obsessive theme of the studio's architectural project process.

We are not concerned about the distinctiveness, we do worry with the monotonous language of normality. 

The “creative box” box: arquitectos, takes on a fascination with formal and spatial experimentalism, based on a technical approach inseparable from the act of designing.

It is the box's nature, a constant search for archetypes, which explain and represent the evolution of the “act” of inhabiting the philosophical and human space, in a cultural and sociological understanding of the universe.  

We therefore depend on the constant challenge to our ability to overcome, in the approach of the architectural paradigm.
