Neil is the Managing Director of Studio Blue Architects and a chartered architect registered in Barbados and the U.K with 20+ years experience in the profession. His experience encompasses the design, detailing, project management and implementation of projects in the United Kingdom, Barbados and the wider Caribbean. He holds a B.A. with honours in Architecture (1995), a Post-graduate Diploma in Architecture (1998) with distinction in the Thesis (Titled - The Role of Plants in the Urban Environment) and a Post-graduate Diploma in Landscape Design (1998) all from the University of Plymouth, U.K.Neil is a Barbadian and one of the founding directors of Studio Blue Architects. He has been responsible for the design of a wide cross section of projects in the luxury residential, commercial, industrial and institutional sectors. As Managing director he provides design advice and general oversight of all projects completed by the firm. Since 2003 he has been actively involved in promoting architecture and sustainable design and has been invited to present on this topic on a number of occasions. He has also served as a guest tutor and critic for the Associate Degree in Architecture at the Barbados Community College. In 2005 he received The Pierce Tappin Award for Best Amateur Photograph at the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) in Barbados, for his submission “Radiation”. He is a Life Member of the Barbados National Trust, a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and a member of the Barbados Institute of Architects (BIA) where he served as the Vice President and President between 2007 and 2012.
