Mark Anderson
Mark Anderson is an architect and designer educated in the U.S. In 1991 he relocated to Milan, establishing his own studio six years later. The interdisciplinary activities of the studio are integrated with Anderson’s own teaching and research. The belief that the disciplines of architecture and design are intellectual, cultural, and economic guides his process. His work and interests concentrate on the interaction between different disciplines, exploring the boundaries in an informative process with particular attention dedicated to critical thinking and new solutions. Synergies between academia, the arts and design and industry/business are often explored in a non-exclusive process.

Through his various activities--consulting, teaching and research--he has led projects in collaboration with the Akzo Nobel Coatings, American Hardwood Export Council, Bassano Furniture Consortium, Boscolo Hotels, Laurameroni Design, Moretti Design, Versace Home Collection, Vestas Hotels & Resorts and Whirlpool Italia (product graphics) and Roncoroni for which he was awarded a special mention Young & Design competition, on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile in 1999. He has organized and exhibited in various events of “Fuorisalone”--Milan Design Week--as well as participated in
various shows dedicated to design experimentation and research such as “Abitare Il Tempo”. He has also participated in conferences on design and his work has been featured in numerous publications. He is cited in The Design Encylopedia published by MOMA (Museum of Modern Art-New York).
