Architect, Artist and Author Studio Wolff January 2010 – Present, Rancho Cucamonga, California Strategic architectural design and practice development. Creating wonder and excitement from a great sketch. Project management instruction and structuring. Vision casting and leadership mentoring. Developing passion and drive. Dangerous architecture. "An Architect’s Journey," my first book, reveals how readers can embrace forthcoming revolutionary change by leveraging the experiences, insights, and trends gained by bridging the greatest period of change to ever occur within the time of contemporary architecture. The future trends defining the next few decades support a long-range forecast for unlimited professional opportunity mixed with turbulence, uncertainty, and peril. There is a clear consensus that the future will be entirely different from anything ever known before. Architecture has changed more in the last 40 years than in the last two centuries. Much of what an architect did not so long ago has become obsolete. To succeed, Architects must strive for positions of leadership, contradict the status quo, expand common thinking, behave unconventionally, abandon exclusive theories, innovate from a framework of multiple perspectives, and skillfully navigate the consequences of complicated choices and actions through collaborative and integrative practices. Compared to the building industry, no other group will have the greatest impact on the quality of life tomorrow. Sustainability is the most critical issue facing the design profession and it needs to be recognized and treated as such. From the Nuclear Age to the Information Age to the Transformation Age, An Architect’s Journey is both a culmination and a starting point; a rite of passage for both beginner and veteran. (Publication is scheduled for mid-2016). Founding Principal/Chairman/CEO WLC Architects June 1974 – December 2009 (36 years) |Rancho Cucamonga, California As a founding, senior principal of WLC, Wolff's portfolio includes nationally recognized green building and civic architecture achievement, with numerous state and local awards. These projects encompass over 300 designed community and educational facilities, civic buildings, and public safety projects as the principal-in-charge. The firm’s combined portfolio reflects an estimated $8.50 billion of built work. Together in 2001, WLC's ownership group founded WLC Construction Services (WLCCS)—a construction management company specializing in the construction of schools and municipal buildings. Today, WLC is one of the few architectural firms in California who are able to construct their own projects for public school districts and municipalities
